Fruity Water is a psychedelic dreamy pop synth guitar duo from Brighton. Starting life as a bedroom side project, members Smalan Odgers and Adam Bell wrote their debut album ‘Thirst Takes’ over the Summer of 2017. They sent singles ‘Wasted Summer’ and ‘Rules’ off to 6Music DJs, thinking they might sound good on the radio, and were delighted when the likes of Mark Radcliffe, Gideon Coe and Steve Lamacq started to play the songs.
Fruity Water meld pop hooks with improvisational elements, matching trippy chorus laden guitar and synth solos with dual vocals harmonies. The band cites Animal Collective, They Might Be Giants, Guided By Voices and Conan Mockinson as major influences.
