Merrymaker is led by Dan Sealey and Adam Barry. Dan is previously of acclaimed Ocean Colour Scene (who had a number one album and performed at major festivals around the world, also supporting bands such as The Who and The Rolling Stones). He co-founded the folk influenced band, Merrymouth in 2011 along with OCS singer/songwriter, Simon Fowler. Adam, also a member of Merrymouth, formerly co-fronted UK alt Country band The Misers, who enjoyed success throughout Europe and America. Together, Dan and Adam founded Merrymaker in 2016, and are now joined by singer and multi instrumentalist Paul McCormack, and Violin player Hannah Lawson.

As Merrymouth, they released two acclaimed albums, featuring Chas Hodges, of Chas & Dave and folk legends John McCusker and Andy Cutting. The band made several high profile festival appearances including co-headlining the Great British Folk Festival alongside Bellowhead, Chris Evans’s Carfest for BBC Radio 2, The Edinburgh Fringe, The Spree Festival and Belladrum.

Merrymaker return to Village Folk, Derby in January 2018 for a third sell out show after a successful appearance at last years Derby Folk Festival and two previous sell out shows at Village Folk in January 2016 and January 2017. 2017 also saw the band appear at numerous folk clubs up and down the Country, they also appeared at the Stratford Folk Festival alongside Cara Dillon and Show Of Hands, and finished the year off co-headlining a sell out show in Kings Heath, Birmingham alongside folk legends Cosmotheka.

They pride themselves on making music about what is happening in and around the world right now. Influenced by songwriters who not only sang about things that affected them, but who also sang about subjects that reflected culture and society at the time. They perform material from albums they have performed on throughout their careers, along with brand new original material.
