Swampmeat emerged from the Coldrice scene (Birmingham, UK) inhabited by the likes of Copter, Big Bang, Table Scraps and many other deplorable reprobates. Danny C and T-Bird recorded two long players in the coming years (Double Dutch & Moonshine and Camp Heartbreak) and graced many a stage from Birmingham to Brazil in their quest to preach the good word.
Danny C took a hiatus from the shores of Blighty for a while, writing, recording and touring with US outfit Low Cut Connie.
Now Danny C and T-Bird are joined in the trenches by Mr Richard March (Pop Will Eat Itself, Bentley Rhythm Ace) and Tommy Hughes (Terror Watts) creating the Swampmeat Family Band. The boys are about to release their debut LP Too Many Things to Hide on PNKSLM Recordings on March 22nd and will be touring UK, Europe and the US in 2018.
“Blistering punk-edged guitar energy. Americana influenced, but also deeply rebellious and intelligent, to boot…” – Clash
“Swmpmeat offer an array of Country, Rockabilly, Punk and Lo-Fi, beautifully mashed into one. At first glance this chaotic mix appears overwhelming but they pull it off with masterful ease.” – Clunk
“Rock and Roll at it’s most freewheeling” – Line Of Best Fit
